Rough Guide to Bali

Penjor "Hey I am coming to Bali, can you recommend me things to do?" I got that question a lot. I get it, I live in Bali so people would think that I master everything about Bali. Well... 50:50. I happened to travel around Bali since 2017. So it wasn't wrong to assume me knowing Bali. But I am also a lazy traveler so I don't always do many things in one place.  That is why we will call this a rough guide to Bali.  First thing first, define your style of traveling. Because we all know that Bali is an island. Not a city. So it is quite big, you know. You can not explore all of it in two weeks. Well you might be able to do so, but probably not immersing enough of it.  So... what is your style of traveling? Bali offers you some cultures, quiet normal life, party hotspots, quiet beaches, busy beaches, temples, and so on.  Mt Batur West part of Bali (Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta) If you enjoy partying, you might want to spend your time more in the west part of Bali like Canggu, ...

[Piknik] Makan siang di Pantai Nipah

Berangkat ke Lombok belom sarapan, rekor lho ini. Cuman kopi sama roti aja dikit yang masuk ke perut. Laper lah kita, apalagi kalo bukan seafood yang ada di otak. Ya kan ya dong? Dibawalah kita menuju Pantai Nipah. Semoga nggak salah sebut nama pantai deh
 
Kita beneran makan dipinggir pantai. Bingung mau pesen ikan yang mana, kita akhirnya pesen yang khas sana. Katanya sih ikan baronang. Tapi udah lupa warnanya apa. Pokoknya mateng aja, makan juga. Nggak cuman ikan aja sih, plus sambel terong. hmmmmmm sedap!!! Enak serius. Eh satu lagi, murah! Makan berdua + sepiring lagi buat sopirnya cuman abis 150ribuan.

Selagi menunggu, karena emang bakar-bakarnya agak lama, kita nikmatin aja pantainya. HJ yang nggak pernah liat pantai selama 2 tahun akhirnya liat pantai juga. Seger banget. Aku yang nggak sebegitu suka pantai ya menikmati aja wong emang bagus. Bersih. Suka deh kalo pantai bersih gitu. Minimal aku nggak di omelin HJ gara-gara sampah. Penting ini!

[Piknik] Prambanan lagi

Salah satu pesona Jawa Tengah adalah Candi Prambanan. Saya sudah 3 kali berkunjung ke situs warisan dunia ini. Candi yang terletak di perbatasan Jawa Tengah dan jogja ini selalu menimbulkan kesan mistis bagi saya. Terletak tak jauh dari jalan raya, sehingga mengunjunginya pun sangat mudah. Berbeda dengan Candi Borobudur yang letaknya sangat jauh dari jalan raya besar.  Ok, menurut saya ada 3 cara menuju candi ini. Menggunakan bus transjogja, taksi, dan kendaraan pribadi. Bagi yang menggunakan transjogja, saya pernah menggunakannya berangkat dari daerah kampus UNY, daerah Depok Sleman. 1 kali transit, 2 kali berganti bus. Dengan harga transjogja yang kala itu, 2014, seharga 3500 rupiah. Tapi sampai saat ini masih sama harganya, menurut info dari teman. Lokasi shelter bis berada agak jauh dari pintu masuk lokasi candi, mungkin kira-kira 500meter sampai 1kilometer. Kalau jalan, menghabiskan waktu sekitar 15-20menit. Bisa juga naik becak untuk opsi yang lain. Lagi-lagi, jangan lupa...

Fire in the Building

Who would have thought that I  experienced fire in the building.  This is my first time living in an appartement. Of course I never chose appartement when living in Indonesia because it’s a real high risk when the earthquake happen. But here we are placed in an appartement. What got me relieved the first time that we are in the lowest floor so if something happen we will be quickly evacuated.  That’s what I thought.  Until it really happened.  We slept around midnight and abruptly woken up by the noise outside. I thought it was the drunk people just got back from night club or the restaurant next door was doing some deep cleaning. So loud that I had to wake up. My husband peeked outside and immediately said “fire brigade outside, you wait here!” I was just “am I dreaming or what?” I put on clothes, checked outside and saw a few of fire trucks. I checked the other side of the appartement and saw a few of police cars and ambulances.  “Oh no, something serious...
