If Money Wasn't The Problem, What Would You Do?

In this extraordinary life, I would be a teacher still.  Helping people to understand even some little things to make them feel worthy and understand themselves better. It seems that teaching has become a calling for me. Not about teaching such specific subject like mathematics or so, but more like... I like to give new perspectives for people, and having them saying "Oh.... I see..." is satisfying for me. Of course, by teaching I can learn so many new perspectives from different people too. It's like the more I teach the more I learn, and that is so true. Maybe more like a guide. I like giving guidance to people who needs it. No, I don't like giving unsolicited guiding. I like to guide people who wants to be guided. I'd teach them how to love, love themselves first. Yea sure when we are talking about things, they would say "do useful things like engineering, plumbing, this and that" but they tend to forget that we need some balance in life. Not saying t

Korean Barbeque

Ssam
Ssam (쌈) also meaning wrapped. Typically Korean wrapped stuff to eat.

I remember I post about my experience of eating kimchi for the first time got the highest view of all time here. It's kind of weird but it is.

H never wanted to eat K-foods. He said that it doesn't look so appealing (how can he said that? 😣). I kept trying to lure him to try out K-foods. That when he wanted to eat some meat and then we chose a Korean bbq restaurant. He surprised that it came with so many side dishes and more importantly is the way they eat the meat with green leaf, mixed with kimchi and ssamjang.

Set of Korean BBQ
Boy, look at the odeng and other side dishes! Ssamjang is the one next to the garlic. It's kind of similar to sambal but different. Japchae is the one that looks like bihun goreng.

The first day we ordered galbi and japchae. I really like japchae but it was very big for one person. We thought that the barbeque set will be less big for two, but it didn't. It was just enough for both of us. So, unfortunately, we ate only half of the japchae. But that japchae taste, remind me of my Korean teacher, 고선미 when she made it for us back then. I miss her.

Korean BBQ set
BBQ set with bulgogi thin sliced meat.

Another day we ordered bulgogi meat because it is thinly sliced and perfect for the combination to make ssam. We fell in love with bulgogi meat for the barbeque. It has a sweet flavor of bulgogi sauce, mixed it with sour kimchi and spicy garlicky ssamjang. It pops out as a fantastic taste in the mouth. Especially when we got a different set of side dishes every time we go there.

Ssam
Meat, garlic, kimchi, ssamjang, wrapped in one big leaf.

Side dishes
These side dishes are not my favorite but still tasty.

Seaweed soup in one BBQ set. I can say this restaurant is serving you an authentic set of foods you order.

Turns out, he loves it more than I do. So as expected, we went there 3 times in a row for Korean barbeque. It was the last day of staying in Dubai and the last soup was seaweed soup. As many people know the meaning of seaweed soup for Korean is a special soup for birthday. He got it two days before his birthday. And oh! We got a 20% discount on our third time there. No idea why.

Restaurant name: Shogun Restaurant (Korean, Thai, Japanese foods).

Loc: 3rd Floor, Al-Ghurair Center Tower #2 - Al Rigga Rd - Dubai.

Gojek ke bandara juanda

While waiting, jadi mending berbagi sedikit soal gojek. Sebelum-sebelumnya kalo naek gojek selalu bayar cash, tapi kali ini pengen cobain top up go pay. Minimum top up 10ribu. Jadi saya cobain deh 30ribu dulu. Eh ternyata lagi ada promo 50% off kalo pake go pay. Haiyaaaaa kenapa ga dari dulu aja ngisi go pay hahaha. Dari kantor ke bandara juanda sekitar 8km. Kantor saya sih daerah rungkut industri. Penasarannn banget ini abang mau lewat mana ya. Tertera di layar 22ribu, tapi karena pakai go pay diskon 50% jadinya tinggal 11ribu. Bayangin tuhh... pake bis damri aja 30ribu hahaha. 11ribu udah nyampe bandara. Biasanya 15ribu ke royal plaza dari kantor haha. Lagi untung. Bagus deh. Nah sepanjang perjalanan, saya mikir ter

Dapet Visa UAE (Dubai) Gampang Banget

Ternyata, beberapa hari kemudian, dia bilang, kalau liburnya malah jadi 7-8 hari aja. Mau ga mau saya yang harus kesana. Maksudnya terbang mendekatinya. Udah milih-milih negara mana yang harganya rasional, yang ga banyak makan waktu buat terbangnya H, dan tentunya ga ribet urus visa buat pemegang paspor hijau yang ga sesakti paspornya H.  Btw warna paspor Indonesia jadi biru ya sekarang?? Pilihan jatuh ke Dubai. Pemegang paspor hijau harus bikin visa, ya pusing lagi deh cara bikin visa Dubai nih gimana. Apa iya sesusah bikin visa schengen, visa US, visa lainnya. dari persyaratan sih standar ya, termasuk  record  bank account selama 3 bulan. Emang nggak pernah bikin visa Dubai sebelumnya ya, apalagi H yang paspornya super sakti kemana-mana (hampir) ga perlu visa, dia ga pernah ad
