Sepatu Winter Pertama

Moscow Dulu, masih sempet pakai sepatu dengan hak 5 cm waktu kerja kantoran. Ya karena harus keliatan formal aja sih, meskipun nggak ada yang ngelarang juga kalau mau sepatu sneakers pun. Toh juga waktu kerja sepatu dilepas dan pakai sendal jepit.  Tapi itu sudah lama sekali. Setelahnya, bertahun-tahun hanya punya 1 sepatu sneakers dan 1 sandal. Sendal jepit punya lah ya, kan hidup di Bali. Salah satu esensial itu. Sebenernya alesannya sederhana, bukan karena nggak mau punya sepatu lebih dari satu tapi lebih ke males harus nyocokin sepatu lagi ke kaki yang belum tentu enak dipakainya.  Sepatu itu adalah hal esensial yang buat gw nggak apa mahal yang penting nyaman. Karena taruhannya di pijakan, dan itu bisa berdampak ke banyak hal kalau salah pilih sepatu. Jalan kaki adalah bagian besar dari hidup gw, jadi punya sepatu nyaman adalah hal yang tidak bisa dinego.  Nah, meskipun gw beberapa kali pernah jalan-jalan saat musim dingin, Moskow ini agak beda. Senandung Alam Kala Nyepi

This year is my first year to experience Nyepi. As we all know, the virus is still going on and we are advised to stay home until further notice. I've been staying home since mid March and doing my work from home. Yes, I am lucky enough to have this chance.

I expected my first Nyepi would be watching Ogoh-ogoh a day before Nyepi but the festival were postponed until August. Yea, so what can we do?

The landlord texted to inform some things related Nyepi, about the do's and dont's. I thought the internet would be turned off but the wifi and my provider didn't turn off the internet. So I was lucky, I can still work and connect to the world lol.


Everything was so quiet. I left my bed at 10 am, took shower, made breakfast then started to read the news and anything to wake my mind up. I started to work a little bit then I heard some noise from the back of the house. I thought people next door were doing something. I walked closer and found out that it was the sound of trees and wind. What a new thing.

When the sun set, it started to get dark. Super dark, really dark that you won't see anything. It felt like seeing something with closed eyes. Bali without nyepi is already dark at night, Bali at night is not my favo. I was inside, did my work. Then my friend texted me, "Checked out the night sky?" OMG yea, I forgot that it had no lights pollution outside. I opened the door, walked a bit to the garden, looked at the sky, and what I did was 😮😮😮😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

Sehari setelah Nyepi.

The stars were shining so bright. Not that they usually does not shining bright, but... this is the right moment to enjoy the night sky. I can see the stars, planets even, that clear. The sky was so dark that you don't even want to leave. You wanna stay outdoor and enjoy the night sky. But it was too creepy for me. Apalagi kata orang kalo nyepi tuh leak-leak pada keluar, apa ya nggak serem bayanginnya.

 Then I remembered that I put "Enjoying Nyepi in Bali" in my bucket list. I did not even know why I did that. Well, yea to experience new thing I believe. But it was really worth it. Spending Nyepi in Bali is definitely worth it. If you love stargazing, make sure you spend Nyepi in Bali next time. I experienced a really wonderful Nyepi here. Like you connect with the nature. It's amazing. I can still feel the butterflies in my belly thinking about Nyepi 😍

Anyway, one of my bucket list ticked, so 😊 But sorry I can't show you the pictures of the night sky. I have no reliable cam for that haha.

    Beb bali sepi yah sekarang? Katanya hotel-hotel pada gak laku. Lah kasian amat yang kerja di hotel. Pasti pada di rumahin.

      Sepi bepppppp. Hotel2 pada tutup semua, nggak yg gede yg kecil pada tutup. pada banting setir semua dah. Toko2 resto2 kafe2 behhh dimana-mana biasanya liat manusia skrg kosong mlompongggg. Bali bener-bener "mati" nggak ada bule yg bs diliat huhuuu

Getting my Hands on Film Camera

In attempts to slow_myself_down_away_from_digital_life, I am getting my hands on film camera. Yes, the kind of camera where you need to put the film roll in and then start snapping. If you are lucky, the pictures will turn up good but if not then we let the fate decide. This is not my first rodeo on using film camera, but it definitely is the first ever to buy the film and develop it using my own money. It is not cheap, which I know.  What can I say, it's an expensive hobby.  I used my first film roll to take photos of my favorite people. So it has more human than random pictures. It was on family event. After the last shot, I wanted to develop it before I flew to Bali but they had no lab. Luckily we have the lab in Bali. I developed and scanned the film in Ojisanfilmlab Bali. They're just a google away. They sell the roll as well. I had to tell the TSA to do the hand checking rather putting it through the scanner. BERDIKARI

Kau tahu kawan kepanjangan dari Berdikari?? Aku rasa, kebanyakan dari kita pasti tau itu kan??!! Yah, BERDIKARI adalah berdiri di kaki sendiri. Artinya??? Mandiri, tangguh, tidak bergantung pada orang lain. Itu yang sejak dulu di gaung-gaungkan kepada kita. Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara yg berkembang. Kita emang sih belum menjadi negara maju seperti Eropa atau Amerika atau negara manapun lah itu. Tapi jika sedikit ditelisik nih ya, kita merdeka adalah hasil perjuangan atau hasil pemberian?! Pasti kita dengan kepala tegak akan mengatakan "Perjuangan sendiri, kerja keras kami selama ratusan tahun". Iya! Benar. Kita merdeka atas keringat dan darah seluruh warga negara. Kita berdiri di tanah merdeka ini dengan kerja keras. Patut bangga? Patut!!! Karena merdeka dengan hasil sendiri, tidak ada negara lain yg menopang hidup kita. Kita berdiri, berjalan, dan berlari atas kemauan kita sendiri. Akibatnya apa? Akibatnya tidak akan ada negara lain yg mengurus kepentingan intern...
