Rough Guide to Bali

Penjor "Hey I am coming to Bali, can you recommend me things to do?" I got that question a lot. I get it, I live in Bali so people would think that I master everything about Bali. Well... 50:50. I happened to travel around Bali since 2017. So it wasn't wrong to assume me knowing Bali. But I am also a lazy traveler so I don't always do many things in one place.  That is why we will call this a rough guide to Bali.  First thing first, define your style of traveling. Because we all know that Bali is an island. Not a city. So it is quite big, you know. You can not explore all of it in two weeks. Well you might be able to do so, but probably not immersing enough of it.  So... what is your style of traveling? Bali offers you some cultures, quiet normal life, party hotspots, quiet beaches, busy beaches, temples, and so on.  Mt Batur West part of Bali (Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta) If you enjoy partying, you might want to spend your time more in the west part of Bali like Canggu, ...

Akhirnya gw nggak cuma mendambakan, "Ahh pengen boxing deh" tapi beneran bayar buat boxing.

Udah beberapa bulan ngintip instagram tempat boxing deket rumah gw, udah berbulan-bulan disuruh H buat berangkat, akhirnya gw mantapkan hati "Yaudah lah cobain dulu sekali" yang ternyata gratis trial ya. Karena baru pertama kali, ya gw mau coba yang basic aja. 

Setelah satu jam, penuh keringat, gw langsung aja "Mas, bayar dong bulanan". 

Gw bener-bener orang yang nggak bisa olahraga sendirian. Karena kalo sendirian, gw pasti boongin diri gw sendiri "Ah kan ga ada yang liat, udah ah nggak kuat" konyol. Tapi kalau ada minimal, pelatihnya, kita udah engap pasti mereka teriak-teriak "10 MORE SECONDS! AYO AYO BISA!!!" Kek malu lah kalau nggak lanjut, yekan? Plank dari cuma bisa 10 detik, jadibisa 20 detik, 30 detik, jadi 40 detik, gara-gara "AYO KAK BISAAAAAA!!!" Antara sebel, kesel, tapi ya seneng 😆

Jadi memang betul pribadi yang satu ini perlu orang lain untuk mau olahraga. Tempat boxing gw ini cuma 3 menit dari rumah. Kebetulan gw selalu ambil jam pagi. Kebetulan kelas pagi ini sering banyak ceweknya. Kalau pas sendirian emang sering capek sendiri, waktu istirahat lebih dikit juga. Jadi seneng banget kalo banyak temennya. 

Trus ada yang ngide bikin grup WA buat boxing ini jadi bisa absen siapa yang berangkat hari itu biar nggak sendirian 😂 Dari yang tadinya gw cuma seminggu 2 kali, sekarang jadi 3 kali. Kek jiwa-jiwa kompetitif gw nongol kalo ada saingannya gitu.

Setelah satu bulan boxing biasa, gw akhirnya cobain Muay Thai. Ternyata enak dong, ada acara nendang-nendang pake kaki. Nah gw demen nih kalo nendang-nendang. Emang tiap abis kelas pertama pasti badan sakit semua, tapi setelahnya malah nagihin. 

Pertama boxing sih besoknya punggung perut bawah nggak ada rasanya lol, biru-biru juga. Boxing udah jalan 2 bulan, masih ngelatih badan bagian kiri biar bisa lebih fleksibel lagi sih. Kanan sih udah nurut apa kata otak, tapi yang kiri masih segan malu-malu koceng. Well, what's more important is enjoying the process of learning.

Emang rasanya setelah olahraga tuh lucu banget ya. 15 menit pertama pasti kesel mengutuk diri sendiri, tapi setelah 40 menit udah mulai endorpin kepompa. Memulainya tuh emang males banget, kayak berat bener gitu bangun pagi buat berangkat. Tapi kalau udah dijalanin malah enak dan kalo skip malah jadi grumpy. 

Gw boxing di Island Warrior Renon ya. Eh btw ini si Nana Mirdad juga boxing di sini. Tapi nggak pernah satu sesi sama gw sih 😂

Fire in the Building

Who would have thought that I  experienced fire in the building.  This is my first time living in an appartement. Of course I never chose appartement when living in Indonesia because it’s a real high risk when the earthquake happen. But here we are placed in an appartement. What got me relieved the first time that we are in the lowest floor so if something happen we will be quickly evacuated.  That’s what I thought.  Until it really happened.  We slept around midnight and abruptly woken up by the noise outside. I thought it was the drunk people just got back from night club or the restaurant next door was doing some deep cleaning. So loud that I had to wake up. My husband peeked outside and immediately said “fire brigade outside, you wait here!” I was just “am I dreaming or what?” I put on clothes, checked outside and saw a few of fire trucks. Write Down Your Dreams, They Said.

Moscow Yes, all things I have and I do right now is all the things that I have written down on papers, during my sleeps, in my consciousness, in my visions. So let's do that again here.  I have another dream that I really think of. It's the thing I want to do when I have so much money, or enough money, or when money doesn't matter anymore, or who knows!  I wanna build a school for kids who can't afford to go to school. I want them to pay nothing, and I want them to learn the basic things like how to respect others, how to tell people their ideas/opinions, familiarize them with being kind, how to think logically, how to solve problems, etc. All the basic survival things in life.  I think my passion is always in education, but I don't always like to follow the old-school rules. There are so many important things we don't learn at school that I think should be taught there. Once we graduate from school, we usually don't know how to navigate life. Who taught you...
