Taking a Train from Moscow City to Yaroslavky

walking to the wagon We chose deliberately in the winter to travel from Moscow to Yaroslavsky. In my defense, we kinda had to use the holiday a little bit. If we're waiting for the good weather, it probably not gonna happen for 3 months and then nothing again. So this trip was taken on February 2026. So we've decided to take a few days off going from Moscow to half of the golden ring. The name ring, means literally ring. Refers to a few cities that used to be very important in the past. Starting from Moscow city (where which we're coming from, technically). I have to mention the cities here anyway; Sergiyev Posad, Pereslavl Zalessky, Rostov Veliky, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ivanovo, Vladimir, and Suzdal. there will be info about the train  We took the train trip from Moscow. You'll Be Missed, Grandma

 
I took this flower-picture a few minutes before you leave us. That was the only time I leave you out of my sight.

It's been a week, you are not around. Usually you open my door in the morning while holding Molly the cat, and said "Wake up, don't be late to work" Haven't heard that for a week now. 

All of sudden you can't walk, you can't lift your arm, you can't talk properly you got a speech problem, you got a severe headache. Well it was not easy to bring you back to your room from the kitchen since you were well.. heavy. But I see it now as a kind of chance you gave me (and my lil sister) and I am thankful for that.

It was a stroke and you had more than 50% blockage blood vessels in your brain. It was weird since you felt nothing before and you were fine. Nothing different physically. We really hoped that you'll recover. We even got plans how to take care of you when you leave hospital.

But God knows better, right? God took you back right in front of me, my little sister and your first son.

We thought, you'll recover soon as you can lift your leg and arm although it was for a bit only. You even talked normal again. Even asked me how was the chicken curry you cooked the day you got the stroke. You even asked all of my friends. You were so chatty. That is why you knew all of my friends although you haven't meet them. You don't even need to see them and yet you always ask me about them. You recognize me. You recognize everyone who visit you there. How can I not think that you'll recover?

It is not easy for me. It is the first death I've seen with my own eyes, and it was yours. I saw you. I clearly saw you. My legs were frozen when doctor said that you're gone. I can't believe it. Ya how can I believe it if 30 mins ago for 2 hours you asked us to massage your legs and arms non stop while you were talking about people you know?

I tried to shake your body, who knows you'll wake up right? But no. You look like in a deep sleep. Can't really cry until I saw you were about to leave us. I am sorry, burst into tears that much when I saw you in your grave. It just too painful to see you leave us that suddenly.

But we will be too selfish if we want you stay with those pain you felt. I am sure it was too painful for you to survive.


Now you leave us to be with Papi. He's been waiting for you for 12 years and your grave is next to his. It is beautiful to see you both that way. You look so beautiful in your last moment.

So now, farewell grandma. Greeting to papi. Tell him we miss him so much. And mami, you'll be missed 💙

Surviving -20 Celcius in Moscow

frozen lake in Moscow I'd say surviving because I am a tropical girl coming from 30-35 degree Celcius. So yes, this is about surviving such differences in temperature. I spent my whole life in a tropical country then I have to be in a -20 celcius, not an easy situation.  Obviously, I came prepared. I have been in a 0 celcius and learned that double triple layering is the right answer. Moscow has heater that runs nonstop since the beginning of (probably, I dont remember) November until early May. So you technically can not turn it off or on. Many days it gets too hot inside. Going to the mall in Moscow got me super sleepy and tired because it feels most of the time like in Sauna. So, double triple layering in Moscow is the right thing to do.  November temperature usually started to feel chilly, still not lower than 0. December will get colder can be minus. Happiness is ...

Few days ago I met new friends. They are friends of my friend. I helped them for their competition. It's good to know them since the way they think about something is unique and quite close to mine. Until one of them ask me : 'What is happiness for you?' I told them that for me happiness is when I stop compare myself with others and not being compared with anybody else (well, you can compare me with others but don't tell me if you do haha!). I used to compare myself with people. For following their success path might be ok, but for having the same life as theirs who seen successful and happy, I don't think so. So I stop to compare myself with others and it make me feel enough. I feel more relax, since I don't have to pretend or to be somebody else. I feel more 'me' because I only think about me and free to do what I want to do (or to think what I want to think). Pakai Debit Jenius di Luar Negeri

Amsterdam Central Station  Ini pertama kalinya pakai debit Jenius di luar negeri. Pemakaian ini menggunakan sumber dana EUR yang ada di aplikasi. Jadi uang yang keluar adalah uang EUR, bukan IDR.  Untuk buka rekening valas di Jenius, tinggal ditambahkan saja bagian buka akun valas lalu pilih kurs yang diinginkan. Di kasus ini gw punya rekening EUR di Jenius yang ditujukan untuk transaksi di Eropa.  Karena kemarin lagi di Belanda, akhirnya pengen coba pakai debit card Jenius karena EDC di Belanda belum tentu bisa untuk kartu kredit saja. Sebelum digunakan tentunya jangan lupa untuk menyambungkan kartu debit ke rekening mata uang asingnya biar sumber pengeluaran juga langsung dari tabungan valas itu. Tinggal klik klik aja kok. Tibalah saatnya menggunakan mata uang EUR yang sudah kubeli dari Jenius. Waktu itu gw pakainya di Schipol, di dua toko berbeda, dan keduanya nggak bisa tap langsung.
