Rough Guide to Bali

Penjor "Hey I am coming to Bali, can you recommend me things to do?" I got that question a lot. I get it, I live in Bali so people would think that I master everything about Bali. Well... 50:50. I happened to travel around Bali since 2017. So it wasn't wrong to assume me knowing Bali. But I am also a lazy traveler so I don't always do many things in one place.  That is why we will call this a rough guide to Bali.  First thing first, define your style of traveling. Because we all know that Bali is an island. Not a city. So it is quite big, you know. You can not explore all of it in two weeks. Well you might be able to do so, but probably not immersing enough of it.  So... what is your style of traveling? Bali offers you some cultures, quiet normal life, party hotspots, quiet beaches, busy beaches, temples, and so on.  Mt Batur West part of Bali (Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta) If you enjoy partying, you might want to spend your time more in the west part of Bali like Canggu, ...

Menghargai hal kecil

For indonesian, what will you do if you have 200, 100 coin? Will you save it? Or dont care about it?? Ahh I bet most of you just dont care about them. Because most of us think that those coins have no value. No meaning.

Oh oh.. no! It has! Still remember Prita case? People save their coins to help prita. And we can get about more than 600million rupiah and all in coins. Cant even imagine how many kilograms of coins at that time. See! A small thing if gathered together it would be a big thing.

Well.. actually I collect coins and I have lots already. And i use those coins to buy many thing. Well.. I am inspired by a movie scene, he have bugs of coins. And he can use it for traveling from america to europe I guess. That was inspired me. Since then I start to collect coins.

For some people it doesnt have any meaning, but for other people it has lots meaning. coin is a small thing. it just like a life. Start from respecting a small thing. Everything are started from small thing. When people can respect small thing, means they can respect everything in life. What makes life feel meaningfull, when you can respect even small thing.

[Piknik] Prambanan lagi

Salah satu pesona Jawa Tengah adalah Candi Prambanan. Saya sudah 3 kali berkunjung ke situs warisan dunia ini. Candi yang terletak di perbatasan Jawa Tengah dan jogja ini selalu menimbulkan kesan mistis bagi saya. Terletak tak jauh dari jalan raya, sehingga mengunjunginya pun sangat mudah. Berbeda dengan Candi Borobudur yang letaknya sangat jauh dari jalan raya besar.  Ok, menurut saya ada 3 cara menuju candi ini. Menggunakan bus transjogja, taksi, dan kendaraan pribadi. Bagi yang menggunakan transjogja, saya pernah menggunakannya berangkat dari daerah kampus UNY, daerah Depok Sleman. 1 kali transit, 2 kali berganti bus. Dengan harga transjogja yang kala itu, 2014, seharga 3500 rupiah. Tapi sampai saat ini masih sama harganya, menurut info dari teman. Lokasi shelter bis berada agak jauh dari pintu masuk lokasi candi, mungkin kira-kira 500meter sampai 1kilometer. Kalau jalan, menghabiskan waktu sekitar 15-20menit. Bisa juga naik becak untuk opsi yang lain. Lagi-lagi, jangan lupa...

Fire in the Building

Who would have thought that I  experienced fire in the building.  This is my first time living in an appartement. Of course I never chose appartement when living in Indonesia because it’s a real high risk when the earthquake happen. But here we are placed in an appartement. What got me relieved the first time that we are in the lowest floor so if something happen we will be quickly evacuated.  That’s what I thought.  Until it really happened.  We slept around midnight and abruptly woken up by the noise outside. I thought it was the drunk people just got back from night club or the restaurant next door was doing some deep cleaning. So loud that I had to wake up. My husband peeked outside and immediately said “fire brigade outside, you wait here!” I was just “am I dreaming or what?” I put on clothes, checked outside and saw a few of fire trucks. I checked the other side of the appartement and saw a few of police cars and ambulances.  “Oh no, something serious...
